Description

SPEED AND LIGHTNESS.
The Nike ZoomX Streakfly, our lightest running shoe, is also lightning fast to tackle any challenge, whether it’s a short distance, 5 or 10 kilometers. With its low cut and refined details, it becomes one with your foot to offer you total osmosis with the road and lead you to your new personal best.

Low, dynamic fit
The full-length ZoomX midsole guarantees lightness and ultimate responsiveness. The thickness of the foam is less pronounced than that of the Vaporfly to allow you to gain lightness and power. This shoe is so light that it becomes one with your foot, allowing you to beat your speed record in turns and accelerates in a race thanks to the responsiveness of ZoomX foam.

Style and support
The ultra-fine mesh upper gives you all the support you need for the run while remaining lightweight. The additional reinforcement in the forefoot provides even more support. The revamped and clean lacing system is offset to the side with a notched tongue to reduce pressure on the top of the foot.

Targeted grip
The outsole was crafted using data collected from runners. This information was used to target the ideal spot where traction should be applied, thanks to a pattern in direct contact with the asphalt, depending on the impact of your foot on the ground. The result is optimal grip from first contact with the ground right through to propulsion, so you can always stay one step ahead.
The partially integrated tongue provides good support.

If you’re an avid runner, then models like the VaporFly NEXT% and AlphaFly Next% by Nike are likely on your radar. Designed for long-distance running, but suitable for daily training, those two silhouettes have held their own against the competition in the rather cutthroat and fast-paced running shoe industry. For the more casual runner looking to take their daily running workouts more seriously in 2022, the ZoomX StreakFly fulfills a very unique yet much-needed purpose as it is engineered specifically for shorter distances. And although a 5K and 10K is hardly an easy task for beginners, it’s often used as a benchmark for progress, so what better than a shoe designed for that purpose?

How the StreakFly differs from aforementioned VaporFly and AlphaFly is the plate that is embedded into the ZoomX foam. The right amount of stiffness was achieved with a shorter mid-foot Pebax plate, allowing for more ZoomX cushioning under the feet. According to Nike Running Footwear Product Manager Elliott Heath, the lack of a full-length plate gives more ground-feel at the toe and the heel which allows for “more control and a bit more of an aggressive feel”. The upper consists of a lightweight engineered mesh, keeping the shoe incredibly lightweight 185g for a mens 10 and 155g for womens 8. The off-set is 6mm for both men and women. The contoured heel pod is a consistent feature throughout Nike Running footwear.

The “Prototype” launch colorway brings a straightforward approach to consumers, quickly detailing its short-distance purpose with the 5K/10K hit on the heel and a wear-test number scribbled onto the medial side of the sole. Priced at $160, the Nike ZoomX StreakFly will release in February, with more colorways are likely to arrive later in the year.
